With spectacular temples, isolated villages, and swathes of lush forest, Northern Thailand is a destination that deserves an in depth visit. From the seat of your bike, you'll get to see the region in a way that few others do. With steep climbs and bumpy roads, the trip will be rough, but rest assured that you will be more than rewarded. You'll gaze over breathtaking views, slip into crystal clear waterfall pools, and gain an experience that you'll never forget.

Before heading north, you'll get your start pedaling in Bangkok, where your bike will offer a unique vantage point from which to see the capital. You'll gain a full understanding of the city's contrasts, as you cycle first through the bustle of Chinatown, then among the quiet lanes and canals of Thonburi.

A short morning flight will transport you to Chiang Mai, the jumping off point for your northern adventure. Thailand's second biggest city, Chiang Mai developed due to its placement on ancient trade routes, and is now famed for its diverse cultural heritage and richly spiced cuisine.

You'll start your exploration of the north at Doi Suthep, a hilltop temple that sits high above the city. Take a minute to admire the astounding views of the surrounding jungle below, because for the next leg of your trip, you'll by cycling through it.

Traveling deep into the forest, you'll venture into rural Thailand. Along the strenuous cycling trip, you'll spot wild monkeys in the trees, snatch a glimpse of remote hilltribe villages, and visit out of the way waterfalls.

Finally, you'll return to Chiang Mai. Your adventure isn't over just yet, however-end the day with a visit to an elephant camp, then drift down the Mae Pai River on a bamboo raft. Admiring the shady scenery as you floating down the river, you'll be able to look back over your journey, and reflect on the adventure you've just completed!
