OVERVIEW

Make a difference on your holiday. Visit villages affected by the 2004 tsunami. You will not only gain insight in to the recovery efforts, but you will also participate in some of the initiatives established in the aftermath to ensure a sustainable income for the victims. Interact with locals, give back to the community, and experience the natural beauty of the Andaman Coast.

 

PROGRAM DETAIL

Make a difference!!! Support the local community by spending a rewarding day in the tsunami-affected villages of the Phang Nga Bay. Here you will learn about the simple lifestyles and unique heritages of the traditional farming and fishing communities. By engaging with the villagers, you can gain an insight into the recovery efforts made in the tsunami aftermath. The locals will welcome you with their warm and friendly smiles and kids sometimes invite you to join them in the activities set up by the local community to ensure self sufficiency and autonomy, including the coconuts shell souvenir manufacture. Enjoy lunch in an authentic village setting with your local host. End the day with the visit of the 7 village of the island.

 

Responsible Travel: By partaking in this tour, you will provide direct financial support for tsunami victims in a village near Phang Nga Bay and help support their efforts to create new income streams.
