Traveler's Reviews |
Who should go?
A restored 19th century 3-storey colonial mansion, the Eugenia exudes plenty of style and old world charm. No elevator is installed to preserve the Eugenia's authenticity. This chic boutique hotel will surely appeal to discerning travelers with refined taste as rooms are tastefully fitted with antique furniture, four-poster beds, dark wood floors and copper bathtubs. With only 12 suites available, guests are assured of a 'home away from home' feel when they stay in this family-owned hotel.
When to go?
Bangkok has three main seasons. From December to February the weather is cool and dry, making it a very pleasant time to explore the city on foot. Temperatures begin to rise in March and the hot weather lasts until May, with temperatures often soaring to 40ºC. Bangkok experiences its rainy season from May to November which is characterized by frequent downpours. The city roads and rivers flood frequently during this time of year.
Where is it?
The Eugenia is conveniently located in the heart of downtown Bangkok on Sukhumvit Soi 31 where several shopping centers are located nearby. It is within walking distance to Phrom Phong Skytrain Station and the international airport is a 30-minute drive away.
What's not to be missed?
Travel the Thai capital in a vintage sedan. Read a book in the Zazen's library. Sip tea in the lounge or inviting courtyard. Enjoy a refreshing swim in the pool on a balmy afternoon. Relax with a rejuvenating shower in the copper bathtub. Relish a cross-cultured specialty in D.B. Bradley Dining Room.
What's cooking?
Named after a Christian missionary who introduced Western medicine into Siam, the D. B. Bradley Dining Room serves a wide array of European and Oriental delicacies in a sophisticated atmosphere. The lounge, named after the great Chinese voyager Admiral Zheng He, is a cozy place to savor gourmet coffee and breakfast delights by day and vodkas by night.
